How it works
A CBZ file is simply the page images of a comic or manga packed into one archive, and the PDF reader that came with your phone or computer will not open it. Select the CBZ file and press Convert to PDF. The archive is opened inside your browser, the images are sorted by the numbers in their file names (page-2 before page-10) and each image becomes one PDF page at its own size. For example, a 180-page volume scanned at 1988 × 3056 pixels becomes a 180-page PDF, and because JPG pages are not recompressed the PDF ends up roughly the same size as the CBZ. Select several volumes and each one downloads as its own PDF. The ComicInfo.xml metadata file and hidden system files are not counted as pages; any other non-image file is skipped and named in the result line.

What is CBZ?
CBZ (Comic Book ZIP) is a ZIP archive of JPG or PNG page images with the extension changed from .zip to .cbz. Nothing inside records the reading order except the file names, which is why pages are usually numbered 001, 002 and so on. Comic reader apps open CBZ files directly; ordinary PDF readers do not.
What is CBR?
CBR holds the same kind of page images, but inside a RAR archive instead of a ZIP. RAR is a proprietary format whose decoder is too large to run in a web page, so this tool does not open CBR files; it recognizes them and tells you so. Unpack the CBR with an archive program and zip the images again to get a CBZ.
What is the difference between CBZ and PDF?
A CBZ is only an ordered archive of page images: you need a comic reader app to view it, and it carries no page-size information. A PDF opens in the reader already built into every phone and computer, prints directly, attaches to an email and can be sent to a Kindle with Send to Kindle. The pictures themselves stay the same; only the container changes.
Page size and quality
Each PDF page has the pixel size of its image (1 pixel = 1 point) with no margins added. Two-page spreads stay as one wide page. PDF pages cannot exceed 200 inches, so very long webtoon strips are scaled down with their proportions kept.
JPG and PNG pages are embedded exactly as they are, so no new compression artifacts appear in the line art. WEBP, GIF and BMP pages are decoded by the browser and embedded as JPG (PNG for GIF). If you print the PDF, your printer scales each page to the paper.
Which files cannot be opened?
CBR (RAR), CB7 (7z) and CBT (tar) are not supported; the tool recognizes the real format and explains what to do. Some .cbr files are really ZIP archives, and because the tool checks the file signature rather than the extension, those convert without a problem.
Password-protected ZIP archives and archives made of iPhone HEIC photos cannot be opened either. If no page image is found at all, the tool lists the formats it accepts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CBZ to PDF?
Select the CBZ file on this page and press Convert to PDF. The pages are collected in the right order into one PDF, each at the image's own size, and the file is never uploaded anywhere.
What opens a CBZ file?
Comic reader apps open CBZ files. If you do not have one, converting to PDF is the easiest route: a PDF opens in the reader already on your phone, tablet or computer.
Why are my pages out of order?
The order comes only from the file names. Numbers are read correctly (2 before 10), but if the names have no numbers or random codes, the PDF follows that order too. Rename the pages 001, 002 and so on, zip them again and convert.
Can I convert a CBR file here?
No. CBR is a RAR archive and this tool only opens ZIP-based CBZ. Open the CBR with an archive program, compress the images as a ZIP, rename it to .cbz and convert it on this page.
