ZIP to PDF

Turn the photos and PDFs inside a ZIP archive into one PDF in the right order, without unzipping

Select a ZIP fileTap or click the box — a file picker opens. You can also drag a file onto it.ZIP — JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and PDF files inside are used

Your files stay with you. Conversion happens inside the browser; no file is ever uploaded to a server.

How it works

A common case: a school, a landlord or a client sent you "documents.zip" with scanned pages, phone photos and a couple of PDFs inside, and a portal wants everything as one PDF. Unzipping on a phone and merging files one by one is a chore; this tool does it without unzipping. Select the ZIP and press Convert to PDF. Each photo becomes one page, centered on a Letter page with a 10 mm (0.4 in) margin, and landscape photos get a landscape page; PDFs keep their own page sizes. Files are sorted by name with numbers read as numbers, so page-2 comes before page-10. The result line reads, for example, "6 files → 9 pages · Letter · skipped: notes.txt". The __MACOSX folder a Mac adds and hidden files such as .DS_Store are ignored. Files that cannot go into a PDF, such as Word documents, HEIC photos or password-protected PDFs, are listed by name.

This tool is also known as zip to pdf, convert zip to pdf, zip file to pdf, combine images in zip into one pdf, zip of photos to pdf, zip to pdf converter.

What is ZIP archive?

A ZIP is an archive that packs many files and folders into one file, usually compressed; email attachments, cloud downloads and "download all" buttons often produce one. Each file inside keeps its own name and folder path. This tool opens the archive in your browser, sorts the files by name and uses only the types that can go into a PDF. RAR and 7z are different formats and cannot be opened here.

What is EXIF orientation?

Phones often save a photo in the sensor's sideways position and write a note in the EXIF data saying "rotate this by 90 degrees when showing it". Photo galleries read that note, so the picture looks upright; a program that ignores it shows the same photo on its side. This tool reads the orientation note in JPEG photos and places the image on the PDF page the right way up, without recompressing it.

How is ZIP to PDF different from JPG to PDF?

JPG to PDF needs the photos selected one by one, already unpacked on your device, and it does not accept PDF files. ZIP to PDF takes the archive itself and collects the photos and PDFs inside, including subfolders, into one document in natural order. If your photos are already separate files on your device, use JPG to PDF; if someone sent you a ZIP, this tool is the shorter way.

Which files are used and which are skipped

Used: JPG and PNG (embedded without recompression), WEBP, GIF and BMP (decoded by the browser and embedded as JPEG or PNG; the first frame of an animated GIF), and PDF (pages copied as they are). Files in subfolders are included.

Skipped: Word, Excel and text files, iPhone HEIC photos, a ZIP inside the ZIP, and password-protected or damaged PDFs. Skipped files are named in the result line, the first five by name and the rest as a count. If nothing can be used, the tool lists the accepted types.

Order and paper size

Sorting by file name reads numbers as numbers: scan-2 comes before scan-10, where plain alphabetical order would put 10 first. Folder paths are part of the name, so files in "01-id" come before those in "02-diploma". If the sender arranged the order on purpose, choose "Order inside the ZIP".

Paper size applies only to photo pages; PDF pages keep their own size. US and Canadian paperwork uses Letter (8.5 × 11 in); choose A4 for documents going to Europe or most other countries. Small images are not blown up: one pixel covers at most one point (1/72 in), so icons do not fill the page and turn blurry.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a ZIP file to PDF?

Select the ZIP on this page and press Convert to PDF. The photos inside become one page each and PDFs keep their pages, all in one document; you do not need to unzip first. The result line shows how many files became how many pages.

Why are the pages in the wrong order?

Sorting by file name reads the numbers in names correctly, but if files are named by date or camera code (IMG_4821, IMG_0033) that is the order you get. If the sender arranged the files, try "Order inside the ZIP".

Why were my iPhone photos skipped?

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, and most browsers cannot open that format. Export the photos as JPG (Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible) or run them through a HEIC converter first.

Is my ZIP uploaded?

No. The ZIP is opened in your browser and the PDF is built on your device; no file leaves this page.
