Image tools cover three jobs: changing format (between PNG, JPG and WEBP), changing dimensions, and shrinking file size. They are often needed together — for a photo going onto a website, capping the long edge first and lowering quality second is the order that saves the most.
One thing to watch: quality loss cannot be undone. An image converted to JPEG does not regain its lost detail when you turn it back into a PNG. Keep the original file.
